Good deal with us. Blake if he can pick up his game, is on for two years at 3 mil each, but this frees up giguere's 7 million next year so we can resign Ryan to a long term contract at about 4 million a year.

He's a good defenseman that will help Toronto. He's no where near a Norris Trophy candidate that some people think he is. He's also not a $6.5M player.

I wouldn't say that Wadell was horrible. I don't think that he was worth 12 years 108 million. I doubt that the Devils will resign him for that much. He did not want to stay in Atlanta. There was no way. Wadell did what he could to keep him. He will sign a smaller contract elsewhere where he knows he can win.

I'm saying he probably could have got more for Kovalchuk.

At least a little more. Maybe 2 more draft picks, like a 2nd and 3rd rounder.

I have a feeling the Devils are only going to use him as a rental player for the remainder of the season.

Kovalchuk is an ass for not taking 12 years and 108 million. Hope he enjoys a small contract or the KHL.

Atlanta, the city, does not need a hockey team. They had a fun team to watch this year and no one in the city cares. I don't blame Kovalchuk for leaving, no. But New Jersey won't be much better, as far as fans go. They have a new arena, a top tier team, and no one there cares. My buddy in New York goes to half of their games because they are so cheap.
