kind of surprised hurt locker beat out avatar for best picture AND best director (i figured they'd split on those), but other than that...very predictable.

Hurt Locker was such a better movie than Avatar.

I was bummed Up in The Air didn't win anything though.

Hurt locker deserved it. Avatar won the awards that it should have (all the technical ones). I would have liked to see District 9 get some more credit but they seem to have something against aliens

My God Father was asked to be the assistant director on Hurt Locker but was too worried about shooting in Jordan so he declined. The look on his face when the film was nominated was pretty good but the look on his face when it won was absolutely priceless.

I didn't see a lot of these movies this year, but I am glad that Hurt Locker cleaned up.
I read that The Blind Side was very simplistic, and I have no intentions of seeing it so I can't judge Bullock...but I am still surprised she won. (How weird will it be to hear, ...and Academy Award Winning Actress, Sandra Bullock).

I saw it. It wasn't an award winning type of movie at all but in all fairness it was very touching. That's my take on the movie... Sandra on the other hand, did an INCREDIBLE job. She absolutely deserved the nom and the win! It was definitely a career changing performance. I've always liked her but never ever thought she was anything special until The Blind Side.
